Working on colnect.com

I have decided to take the phonecards database project to the next level, making it a site for all types of collectibles. I am working with my partner on that at full speed and hope to get it out by the end of the month, the site will include the interface features and probably our take on stamps.

If anyone is reading this and have any ideas, feel free to comment

Night write

Not too much activity on this blog lately has made me wonder, what makes blogging tick? My uncle used to have a popular blog not so long ago, ratteling the blogsphere with witty posts, but he got tired and simply stopped.

Am I tired of blogging? I am probably already tired of Hattrick but still keep pulling on inertion. Are most bloggers on interation, or do they all do it for some commercial interest?

What should I push for in this blog? should I even? ;)

Time to go to sleep and stop hacking aimlessly on the keyboard.

Labour Day

No blogging happened on April as I was busy working. Even took a trip to Greece.

There is a work related situation at work which forces me to do my utmost to solve it, mainly including long hours and trying to think out of the box. I know it will take a while and I hope I will be able to finish that successfully to have some time to my remaining self.

Exciting things will happen soon, hope all turns out well.

Worlds collide

I took my son to work today.

He’s 3 and some, and is very cute and outgoing. Have been talking about coming to Mom’s work for about 7 months now. It’s a holiday at kinder garden so it was a good opportunity.

It was actually a refreshing change, since it really puts the work in another perspective. For example: while I was at a very important discussion with a colleage I heard “Mom, I need to go to the bathroom”. I left everything immediately. Nothing is more important than this, after all :P

Is it something that bothers others, when people bring their kids to work? I guess so. It’s very distracting, and I’m sure in some way reducing productivity to all (naturally – to me). But how much so? Maybe the effect of the cute child with the winning smile, and getting to know the boss from another perspective, more personal one, is actually good for morale, and therefore improving productivity in the big picture?

Making available

After a very long time, I am finally making this site available also to outside visitors. I will get the tototrick sites up and running soon and will try to improve them. And also – the telecards site has a much faster links sinse a few weeks back – so enjoy it.

What is blogging all about?

A blog is not really for me.

A blog is for someone who wants others to read what they think, not someone who values their privacy the way I do.

So I doubt I’ll do much blogging. This one is just because of the challenge set by my beloved husband Sharky.
When I do blog it will probably be about motherhood and carreer. How banalic can I be? Very banalic.
For example – here I am, with the flu, husband half way around the world, with a sick kid and a probably turning sick baby, writing tens of emails, revising schedules and budgets, and searching the net for some technical solution (opening a tray icon with a right click menu from a dll), instead of simply sleeping and geting ready to another fulfilling day of teaching my baby how to clap. No wonder the baby doesn’t like clapping – who would, when you have 2 pressured minutes a day to learn it?

This is not a blog, this is a “dear diary” entry.

Oh well.

Saving space

This whole blog thingy was induced by moving from an old supermicro dual pentium 3 motherboard which takes up a lot of space and generated tons of noise to a new AcerPower 1000 on which I have installed Gentoo – my favorite Linux flavor. Will probably write more when I have free time, also – my beloved wife Sunny has her own account here too – lets see if she decides to use it ;)
